(1)造成假阳性的原因:[过度反应]
①探头或电极接触了大面积金属修复体或牙龈使电流流向了牙周纽织;
②未充分隔湿或干燥受试牙,以致电流漏向了牙周;
③液化性坏死性牙髓有可能传导电流致根尖周;
④患者过度紧张或焦虑以致于探头刚接触牙面或被问之感受时即抬手。
(2)造成假阴性的原因:[无反应]
①先服用镇痛剂、麻醉剂或酒精饮料;(使之不能正常地感知电刺激)
②头或电极未能有效接触釉质;(妨碍了电流传导至牙髓)
③尖尚未发育完全的新萌出牙;(其牙髓通常对电流刺激无反应)
④管内过度钙化的牙;(其牙髓通常对电流刺激无反应,常见于些老年人患牙)
⑤受过外伤的牙。(可对电流刺激无反应)
